Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking, a victim of motor neurone disease since the age of 22, experiences weightlessness outside of his wheelchair on a Zero G flight. In doing so Hawking fulfilled a lifelong dream: 'I was Superman for a few minutes'.

The late Stephen Hawking (pictured) was known for many things: cosmology, theoretical physics, A Brief History of Time, religion, aliens, appearances in cartoons, turning down a knighthood. But there’s yet another that sticks out.

Hawking’s character exuded optimism. This is despite his living with adversity most people will never even face. He shared it in abundance, frequently offering it constructively to others. Check this quote out:

'Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up.'

So what will your role in this world be?
